Cookies definition
In practical and non-technical terms, a cookie can be considered a tracking system that consists of a small file, stored by the website in the user’s device while browsing, used with the aim of saving the preferences expressed when browsing and improving the performance of the website, optimising the browsing experience.
In technical terms, cookies are defined as text strings (generally made up of a combination of letters and numbers) that websites (so-called first parties) visited by the user or different websites/web servers (so-called third parties) place and store, directly and/or indirectly within a terminal device (PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.) that is in the user’s possession. The servers for surfing the Internet or for operating the device may store cookies and then transmit them back to the same sites that generated them, with a view to a subsequent visit by the same user. Specifically, these tracking tools allow the Site to recognise a particular device or browser.

Technical cookies are strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the Site or to allow the fruition of the contents and services requested by the user. Technical cookies are assimilated to technical cookies (and, therefore, as specified in the Provision, for their installation, the users’ consent is not required, nor the further regulatory requirements) the so-called analytics cookies if they are made and used directly by the first party website operator (without, therefore, the intervention of the first party website operator). analytics cookies if they are created and used directly by the operator of the website (without, therefore, the intervention of third parties) for the purpose of optimising the website in order to collect aggregate information on the number of users and on how they visit the website itself, as well as analytical cookies created and made available by third parties and used by the website for mere statistical purposes, if, among other things, suitable tools are adopted to reduce the identifying power of the analytical cookies they use (for example, by masking significant portions of the IP address).
Profiling cookies make it possible to track the user’s web surfing and create profiles on his/her tastes, habits, choices, etc. The user’s failure to provide consent will preclude the possibility of using the contents and additional functionalities linked to the installation of profiling cookies.
