25 APRIL 2023 – 70° ANNIVERSARY IMOLA RACETRACK

 

On 25 April 1953, what is now known throughout the world as the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Circuit of Imola was officially inaugurated. This year we celebrate 70 years and to celebrate this important anniversary Formula Imola has organized a series of events open to the public on the day of the anniversary. The day begins at 10.00 with the different rounds of parade on the track, both cars and motorbikes behind the Safety Car, in which all enthusiasts can participate with their own vehicle by filling in the appropriate forms.
We continue inside the Media Center where the agreement will be presented which provides for the supply by the BMW Turbosport Imola dealership of three electric cars from the Bavarian company, which will be used by Formula Imola both as safety car and leading car during the competitions for both promotional and safe driving activities on the days reserved for electric cars.
After the morning activity on the track, the afternoon will be dedicated to those who want to walk along the track. The opening to the public is in fact scheduled from 14.00 to 18.00. The activity in the Media Center will continue at 3.30 pm with the institutional greetings from the Municipal Administration, Con.Ami and Formula Imola, which will be followed by the screening of a video celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Circuit, scripted and shot by guys from F1Dimenticata, who recounted the main events that have characterized this long history of engines and passion.
At 17.00 we will move to the track where the Bishop of Imola, Mons. Giovanni Mosciatti, will bless the track. At the end of the day, the official presentation of the book “Imola 70 the novel of the racetrack” in the Media Center at 18.00. To write it and to tell it firsthand a famous “pen” of sports journalism, Pino Allievi, prestigious signature of the Gazzetta dello Sport, who lived a good part of this extraordinary adventure as a correspondent of Formula 1. Magnificent collector’s book, in heavy paper and hard cover, “Imola, the novel of the racetrack” tells, through the literary verve of Allievi, the story of the Imola racetrack with an eye naturally to Formula 1, with important flashes on motorcycling, cycling, concerts and excellence of the territory in terms of food and wine, tourism and monuments. 303 pages to be reread over and over again, accompanied by splendid images by great photographers and important archives, a volume available in bookstores, motorsport merchandising shops and online.
