WEC-PIAZZA-MATTEOTTI

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM SUNG BY SILVIA DE SANTIS, DON’T MISS THE FLIGHT OF THE HH-101A ‘CAESAR’ HELICOPTER

Imola, 17 April 2025 – Everything is ready for the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Imola 2025, the appointment at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo and Dino Ferrari not to be missed by motor racing fans and not only. A weekend full of entertainment, speed and excitement awaits the public from 18 to 20 April, not only on the track: the whole of Imola is preparing to experience an international event under the banner of passion for engines.

In the afternoon at 17:00 Piazza Matteotti, in the heart of the city of Imola, hosted the official presentation of the 2025 FIA WEC drivers, in the presence of a large audience of fans. Among the most eagerly awaited were Ferrari drivers Antonio Giovinazzi, Antonio Fuoco and Alessandro Pier Guidi, who were welcomed with particular warmth by the fans, given the strong connection between the team and the territory. There was also great enthusiasm for Valentino Rossi, in his second year in the FIA World Endurance Championship, who managed as always to involve his supporters with his usual energy and stage presence.

In the meantime, the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari is preparing to kick off the track activities of the long-awaited FIA WEC 6 Hours of Imola 2025. The constantly changing weather conditions will make the three days of competition particularly exciting. The entire day of Friday 18 April will be dedicated to free practice sessions, during which the FIA World Endurance Championship cars will take turns on the track with the different categories present: X-GT4 Supersport GT and Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland. The spotlight will be on the undisputed stars of the weekend: the Hypercars and LMGT3s of the FIA WEC, which will have two free practice sessions, at 11.15am and 4pm.

On Saturday 19 April, after the last free practice at 10:40 and the autograph sessions in Pit Lane, qualifying will start at 14:30, lasting just over an hour. The real show will start on Sunday 20 April, with the green light for the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Imola from 13:00 to 19:00.

And that’s not all: a green flag also for the Fan Zone, active for the entire duration of the event, a theatre of entertainment for the public with games and animations for children, engaging exhibitions and activities, and of course a wide range of refreshments with Italian and non-Italian food, live music, driving simulators and driver interviews on stage… and much more! Don’t miss the free Ferris wheel, to enjoy the circuit in its entirety, the arrival of the Goodyear Blimp on the occasion of its centenary, and Dinner in the Sky, the 50-metre-high restaurant and the performance of rapper Guè Pequeno on Friday night.

The engines will therefore be the main actors of the weekend, but they will not be the only ones to make their voices heard: the Imola singer-songwriter Silvia de Santis will be entrusted with the interpretation of the national anthem on Sunday 20 April just before the start of the race. With a degree in opera singing and numerous television and live appearances, including participation in ‘The Voice of Italy’ programme, she will be the one to officially open one of the most eagerly awaited motoring events of the year with a performance full of national pride.

Not to be missed is the passage of the HH-101A ‘Caesar’ helicopter belonging to the 9th Wing – 21st Flying Group ‘Tiger’ of the Italian Air Force. In addition to its deployment in the Special Forces and the recovery of personnel, the helicopter is also operational in civil commitment contexts in the event of national and international emergencies, providing support to the population affected by natural disasters.

In order to access the event, one must be in possession of an entrance ticket, which can be purchased on the TicketOne website (or also directly on site in Via Pirandello, at the junction with the Viale Dante bridge) with options including access to the Paddock and Pit Walk. Those who already have a ticket can upgrade via the link received via email (by entering their tax code). The offer is valid while places last. Also making the experience accessible to families is the Terre & Motori Family promotion: up to two adult ‘General Admission’ tickets for € 35 each (valid for all three days) and up to two free admissions for children up to 13 years of age for each ticket purchased.
